What is a hyperlink ?

A hyperlink, or simply a link, is an element (text or image) in an electronic document (website content, word document, etc.) that takes user to a different location within the same document or to an entirely new document. The text that is linked is called anchor text.
As an example, the text ‘anchor text’ is a hyperlink.
