What is Cart Abandonment Rate ?

On an ecommerce store, if a customer adds some items to the shopping cart but leaves before completing the transaction, it is called an abandoned cart. Cart Abandonment Rate is number of abandoned carts per 100 initiated transactions. Ecommerce stores can use following formula to calculate their abandonment rate: Abandonment rate = (1 – transactions completed/transactions initiated)
