What is meant by Deep linking ?

A deep link is a hyperlink on a web/app page that takes users past the homepage of a website/app to the content of an inner page. The concept of deep link is extensively used in mobile apps. Through mobile deep linking, when a user share a product link of an app, the recipient can directly access the product, instead of looking for the app, landing on its homepage, then finding the product within the app.
