What is Cost per click (CPC) ?

In a cost per click advertisement model, the advertiser pays whenever a visitor clicks on the advertisement. This type of model is commonly seen with Google AdWords and Microsoft Bing Ads. Mathematically, cost per click is calculated as:
Cost per click = Advertising cost / Ads clicked
